The mysterious origins of the chalk-hill figure known locally as the Folkestone Elephant are explored through an immersive countryside walk using mobile Augmented Reality. The walk invites users to consider the importance of the landmark through a series of geo-located ‘found’ video clips and accompanying survey questions.

Lithoscapes

Lithoscapes is an interactive library of acoustical Impulse Response (IR) recordings made at important geological sites within the Kent Downs AONB. At each location a recording was made of a balloon being popped. The sonic information encapsulates the acoustic space and is processed to create a reverb effect that can be reproduced and applied to other sounds. The app allows the user to compose patterns of sound and play them into their selected lithoscape.
